Rural youth across Kenya are brimming with talent but trapped in cycles of poverty, underemployment, and digital exclusion. Nowhere is this more visible than in Maasailand, where a global image of culture and resilience hides deep systemic neglect. The land, once a source of life and freedom, has been sold and fenced, dismantling a pastoral economy with nothing sustainable to replace it.
Many young people complete school full of ambition only to find no jobs, no opportunities, and no voice in the city. They return to the village disillusioned, riding boda bodas, doing menial tasks, and watching time slip away. They are not lazy. They are locked out.
Aid organizations come and go, drilling boreholes, building classrooms, and checking boxes. But who equips the youth to create, lead, and innovate in their own communities?
Meanwhile, others see the opportunity in these rural spaces, investing, building, thriving, while the youth remain on the sidelines.
This is not just a poverty problem. It is a power problem.
Who owns the future if rural youth are left behind?
Digital Moran does not just ask “What if?” – we act.
What if rural youth across Kenya became creators of their own economy? We equip them with digital skills in web design, AI, and content creation so they no longer watch from the sidelines while others profit from their untapped potential.
What if land was not their only asset? We teach entrepreneurship and innovation, helping them turn shrinking farms into scalable startups, freelancing careers, and tech driven businesses. No more waiting for jobs, they build them.
What if youth were seen as architects of progress, not passive recipients? We are powering a grassroots tech uprising where tools replace handouts and ideas replace dependence.
This is not aid. This is agency.
We are flipping the script from forgotten to funded, from boda boda riders to brand builders, from disconnected youth to digital pioneers.
The true wealth of rural Kenya is not its land. It is its youth resilient, brilliant, and ready.
And we are here to ignite that future.
Digital Moran is a Community-Based Organization pioneering digital transformation in rural Kenya, with a bold vision for Maasailand. We exist to empower underprivileged youth by equipping them with cutting-edge digital skills, entrepreneurial mindsets, and access to opportunities that unlock their full potential. Rooted in the resilient spirit of our people, we are bridging the gap between raw talent and meaningful opportunity.
Our journey began with offering free digital skills training through the Digital Moran Academy, focusing on areas like web design, graphic design, AI, and digital marketing. As we grow, we are building the foundation for a thriving rural tech ecosystem with future plans to launch a marketplace directory, tech hubs, empowerment programs, startup studios, agritech initiatives, and innovation platforms that will drive prosperity and resilience across our communities.
We are not just preparing young people for the future we are empowering them to create it. Guided by the values of equity, integrity, innovation, community, and resilience, we are working to establish Africa’s Silicon Savannah in Maasailand: a place where innovation thrives, opportunities are limitless, and no one is left behind.
To train, mentor, and empower youth from underprivileged communities through digital skills, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
To build a digitally empowered generation of youth in rural Kenya who are equipped to innovate, create, and thrive in a global economy.
Our values are the foundation of who we are and how we serve. They guide our actions, shape our culture, and define our commitment to lasting impact. Every decision we make is rooted in equity, integrity, innovation, community, and resilience, ensuring we build a future that uplifts and empowers everyone we reach.

My name is Siloma Stephen. I grew up in a small pastoralist village in Kenya. Despite many challenges, I was able to clear my tertiary education. Sadly, many of my peers didn’t have the same opportunity, and that’s why I am so passionate about training and mentoring others.
I taught myself through free online resources, eventually starting my agency, Brait Consulting Limited. Over the years, I’ve worked on major projects, including websites for institutions like ICPAK, government bodies like NHIF, and MSMEs like Winnies Pure Health. I’ve also handled digital marketing and graphic design for prestigious organizations like the UNSC and UNSDSN.
Now, with over 12 years of hands-on experience, I am ready to pour this knowledge into the next generation through Digital Moran. My mission is to empower young people, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, to master high-demand digital skills and build successful careers.
My mission is simple: to help create 1,000 successful businesses through training, and in turn, reduce the staggering rates of youth unemployment. To do this, I need to train over 100,000 young people. I firmly believe that everything can be taught and I want you to be part of this dream.
