Lenadi’s story is one of resilience and redemption. From battling alcoholism to running a small shop in Olkiloriti, he’s rebuilding his life with support from Digital Moran and a dream
Fueling a grassroots tech revolution from the heart of Maasailand.
This is the story of Siloma Stephen, a man who walked away from a stable life to return to his village and build something bigger than himself. From mentoring youth in Nairobi to founding Digital Moran in the heart of Maasailand, this short documentary is a raw, honest journey of burnout, awakening, and hope. If you’ve ever questioned what life is really about, this will speak to your soul. Watch it. Share it. And if it moves you, join the movement.
In rural Kenya, countless young graduates leave for the city chasing opportunity, only to return home riding boda bodas, doing odd jobs, or working shrinking pieces of inherited land. The traditional way of life is fading. Land that once sustained generations has been subdivided, sold, and fenced off. What remains is uncertainty.
A new era is here. AI is rewriting the rules. The question is, “Will our youth be ready, or left behind?”
We empower these youth through both physical and hybrid training models online via our LMS and on-site classes in rural towns. After equipping them with digital skills, we guide them step-by-step on how to launch their own digital agencies. To connect them to real opportunities, we are currently building our own job board a localized Upwork-style platform where clients can hire directly from trained Morans.
We operate on a revenue share model, holding funds in escrow and offering full refunds or reassignment if work is not delivered. Beyond skills, we teach our Morans pricing, pitching, building strong portfolios, and creating reliable agency systems that earn and scale.
Digital Moran is a Community-Based Organization pioneering digital transformation in rural Kenya, with a focus on Maasailand. We empower underprivileged youth by equipping them with in-demand digital skills, entrepreneurial training, and access to innovation opportunities.
Rooted in the vibrant culture of the region, Digital Moran serves as a launchpad for young people seeking to build meaningful livelihoods through technology. We believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Our mission is to bridge that gap by creating a future where every young person can learn, build, and succeed.
We’ve empowered aspiring creatives and tech minds; graphic designers, marketers, photographers, videographers, and developers to transform their passion into thriving digital ventures. This is what successful Digital Morans have to say!
We are not just teaching skills; we are nurturing visionaries, creators, and leaders ready to shape the future. Our LMS hosts over 40 free courses, and also allows young instructors to monetize their teaching through a revenue share model, creating employment as they empower others.
Every program we run is built to challenge youth to think bigger, move faster, and create impact that extends beyond themselves. Our approach blends practical training with entrepreneurial thinking, ensuring that they are not only skilled but are also empowered to solve real-world problems and build lasting legacies.
If you’re passionate about teaching and want to be part of this movement, join us as an instructor and help shape the next generation of changemakers.
At Digital Moran, we are on a mission to spark a digital and entrepreneurial revolution in Maasailand and rural Kenya. To realize this ambitious vision, we are seeking forward-thinking partners who share our commitment to empowering underprivileged communities through technology, innovation, and sustainable development.
We invite collaboration with organizations, institutions, businesses, and individuals who can contribute solutions, funding, expertise, or mentorship to help us achieve our objectives. You can help in the expansion of the Digital Moran Academy, building our tech hub, developing our marketplace, advancing agritech solutions, or powering our empowerment programs, your partnership can make a real and lasting impact.
We have conducted youth empowerment sessions across villages, towns, and informal settlements focusing on mindset change, digital skills, and practical opportunities that help young people believe in themselves and build a better future.
